Injury Expert: Rangers player to go through drills after knee injury ahead of Real Betis clash
According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo is still working his way back to full fitness after missing several weeks with a knee injury.
According to the injury expert, he will work on strength and conditioning sessions as well as individual drills to get him back to full match sharpness.
Gers will be training ahead of their Europa League match against Real Betis on Thursday, and the Welshman is expected to play.
Brar, a doctor of physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Ibrox News exclusively about his situation:
“It’s hard to give a timeframe on returning to pre-injury levels because each player is different when it comes to finding their form and rhythm along with regaining fitness.
“The key will be for Matondo to continue to work daily on those things, through both strength and conditioning sessions along with training with the group.
“There will be certain drills in training in order to help him with match sharpness.“
Matondo returned to the first team at the end of November, and Philippe Clement has used him sparingly since then.
He’s played 20 minutes or less in most games, and he only played a full half against Dundee on Saturday, December 9th.
There was a lot of rotation for that one, so the 23-year-old is likely to start again in the Europa League.
In other news, Rangers star who was initially ruled out of the ViaPlay Cup Final could still make it to Hampden.
