Mavericks’ Luka Dominic On Pace To Make NBA History This Season
Luka Dominic of the Dallas Mavericks is on pace to make NBA history this season.
Dominic is on track to become the first player in NBA history to average 32 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists per game.
For the Mavericks, Dominic is averaging 32.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 9.1 assists while shooting 48.5% from the field, 37.6% from beyond the arc, and 77.6% from the free-throw line. The four-time All-Star is one of the front-runners for the MVP Award.
Dominic, 24, is the NBA’s leader in total points, second in points per game, fourth in total assists, fourth in assists per game, second in 3-point field goals, and fifth in player efficiency rating.
The Mavericks have a record of 16-11 this season. They are currently sixth in the Western Conference standings. Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks, who is currently out with a right heel contusion, has enjoyed watching Dominic dominate this season.
“You’re insane, bro. “I’ve been with some of the best ever, and to see it up close is one thing, but to experience it as a teammate is a whole different world to be in because you’re watching it, and it looks so easy,” Irving said of Dominic, according to Sports Illustrated’s Grant Afseth. “But, you know, it takes a lot of hours in the gym for that guy—a lot of confidence, and ultimately, us as teammates.” We simply want to be there for him and help him. Like, if you’re having a good night, a great night like that, keep feeding him, and he kept going, and we weren’t messing around tonight, so it felt good.”
Dominic signed a five-year, $215 million contract with the Mavericks in August 2021. Dominic is one of the best players in the NBA and has the potential to become one of the all-time greats.
