Celtic January Transfer Rumours Dispelled by Brendan
Despite recent speculation, Celtic Football Club is not interested in Nottingham Forest’s Scott McKenna during this transfer window.
Earlier reports suggested that Celtic were interested in signing McKenna, but Daily Racord has confirmed that he is not on manager Brendan Rodgers’ wish list.
McKenna has found himself on the outside looking in at Nottingham Forest, with no clear path back to the first team, indicating a bleak future at the English club.
The Rangers are said to be interested in the free agent at the end of the season. Celtic appears to be saying, “You can have him.” Celtic currently have an excess of centre-backs.
Even if Kobayashi and Lagerbielke were to leave, the Bhoys would still have four centre backs to choose from: CCV, Scales, Nawrocki, and Welsh.
Celtic’s strategy remains focused and unaffected by rumours. The club is actively seeking to strengthen its squad by closing deals early in the January transfer window.
This proactive approach aims to solidify the team’s composition and readiness, ensuring that they are well-prepared and robustly strengthened for the competitive challenges that await in the season’s second half.
In other news, Brendan Rodgers outlines his timetable for completing one or two signings.
