Inter Milan midfielder to sign with Leicester City until the end of June 2026; medicals start early next week.
Stefano Sensi, an Inter Milan midfielder, will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with Leicester City until the end of June 2026.
This is according to today’s print edition of the Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Sensi is still an Inter player. However, it appears that the 28-year-old will soon leave the Nerazzurri after four and a half years.
Sensi has been a top target for Leicester throughout the January transfer window.
Enzo Maresca, the East Midlands club’s coach, has pushed hard for the signing of the former Sassuolo midfielder.
Leicester had to offload a player to make room for Sensi.
In an ironic coincidence, Cesare Casadei, a former Inter youth team midfielder, has left Leicester. The 21-year-old’s loan spell with Chelsea was cut short.
Since then, it appeared that Sensi’s transfer to Leicester would be completed soon.
Stefano Sensi to Sign Two-and-a-Half-Year Contract With Leicester City Until 2026
Sensi’s move to Leicester should be completed within the next few days.
The 28-year-old will be part of the Nerazzurri’s squad for their Serie A match against Fiorentina this evening in Tuscany.
Sensi will then travel to England to undergo medicals and sign a contract with Leicester.
In terms of the Inter-Leicester agreement, everything has been finalised.
The Championship club will reportedly pay the Nerazzurri approximately €3 million, including all add-ons.
Leicester have also completely convinced Sensi.
Maresca, the Foxes’ coach, personally convinced the Italy midfielder to work on the project at the King Power Stadium.
Sensi and his representatives have fully agreed to personal terms with Leicester.
The 28-year-old former Sassuolo player will sign with the Foxes until the end of June 2026.
