The Celtic duo that “played a big part” in his move, Adam idah reveals

Celtic confirmed the signing of striker Adam Idah late Thursday evening. The Irish international joined the Hoops on loan until the end of the season, with no option to purchase.

It was a quick move, with news first surfacing on Tuesday night. The 22-year-old was then announced as a new Celtic player 48 hours later, following a deal with English Championship club Norwich City.

Idah has taken the number nine jersey at Celtic, and he will be in the squad for Saturday’s away game against Aberdeen. He joins the club as one of only two fit and available strikers, so he has a good chance of making his Pittodrie debut tomorrow.

The Irishman is eager to do so, and when speaking as a Celtic player for the first time, Idah revealed that his fellow countrymen Mikey Johnston and Liam Scales both played an important role in his decision to join the club: “I’ve spoken to both,” he said.

“They played a big part, they spoke massively about the club, how great this club is, and the fans, the city, so they helped me make my mind up as well.”

Scales and Johnston appear to have acted as Celtic agents in this transfer. The pair play with Idah on an international level, and despite leaving the club for West Bromwich Albion on deadline day, Johnston helped persuade Idah to come to Glasgow.
