Just over 700 Celtic supporters who purchased tickets for the SWPL1 Women’s match at Ibrox tomorrow afternoon will be informed today that the Rangers have CANCELLED their tickets for the game at short notice.

Celtic have been contacted about the latest Ibrox club’s ‘concerns’ regarding approximately 35 Celtic supporters who purchased tickets for the match through the official Celtic website, with the Rangers falling into the Ultras category. They requested payment for a significant increase in security costs, which Celtic rejected as the away club.

This season has seen three Women’s Glasgow Derby meetings in three different competitions: the Glasgow Cup at the start of the season, an SWPL1 league match and, most recently, a Sky Sports Cup semi-final. All three games were played at Celtic’s ‘home’ ground, the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie, and Celtic in good faith provided tickets to the Rangers supporters, with both sets of supporters attending and occupying the main stand without incident.
The Celtic Star reported after the recent cup tie that Rangers fans were permitted to place banners in the empty stand behind the goal at the Rangers end of the stadium, and we noted that Celtic fans would be unlikely to have similar access when we play them away from home.

Elena Sadiku will now lead her team to Ibrox tomorrow, and instead of having the support of a large number of Celtic fans, with the club expecting to sell around 1000 tickets, there will be NO CELTIC SUPPORT at the game.
The Rangers have tainted the SWPL1 competition’s integrity, and Celtic FC should, in our opinion, request a postponement of this fixture to allow the SWPL1 and the SPFL to intervene. Is it true that Celtic have outsold the Rangers tomorrow? How embarrassing would that have been for the new Ibrox club?

If Celtic wins tomorrow, the gap at the top of the SWPL1 will be reduced to one point, and Sadiku’s side, which has been significantly strengthened by the return of injured players and the arrival of Tash Flint, will be confident. The Rangers have now moved the goalposts and barred all Celtic fans from attending the game.

This is a complete disgrace. There has been no trouble at any of the Glasgow Derby games, with the exception of the Rangers’ own coach assaulting former Celtic manager Fran Alonso in a cowardly attack from behind. Despite the fact that the attack was broadcast on Sky Sports, he did not lose his job or face any charges from the police.

So, Celtic, without our support, this game should not take place.

In other news, Brendan Rodgers has previously described the £15 million player as ‘world class’, and he could be Celtic’s ideal free agent signing.
