hapless trio The Rangers B team played Carlisle United at the club’s Training Centre, with Ben Davies, Leon Balogun, and Zak Lovelace making their comebacks to the starting lineup.
This season, the starting XI for the Ibrox first team included seven players, including Robby McCrorie, Leon King, Bailey Rice, and Nicolas Raskin.
Clearly, the goal of the game was to give the club’s bench players and the returning Rangers players some playing time. It seems to have been a valuable experiment.

With three players returning from injury and minutes controlled, Thompson Ishaka scored the Rangers goal in a 1-1 draw with the English League One team.

In the match, Leon Balogun played 67 minutes for the Rangers B team against Carlisle, while Ben Davies and Zak Lovelace each only played 45 minutes.

The 28-year-old defender Davies hasn’t been seen since the 3-2 victory over Real Betis on December 14th, as his season has been severely disrupted by injury.
With only 12 games played so far this season, the defender’s 45 minutes for the B Team is a positive start, and we don’t think it will be long until we see him back in the starting lineup.
Although he was not put at any risk during the game, fellow centre back Leon Balogun was listed on the bench for the weekend’s table-topping victory over St Johnstone.

While Nicolas Raskin is still recovering from a devastating mid-season injury, the Rangers academy stars McCrorie, King, and Rice have all found opportunities to be scarce this season.
Rangers manager Philippe Clement has made it apparent that the team will deal with injury issues appropriately as they attempt to improve player strength and conditioning.
Football is a squad sport, according to the Ibrox manager, who has made that clear. We anticipate that each of these four players will contribute this season.
