Rodgers discloses a fresh injury blow

Brendan Rodgers will have to reshuffle his defensive lineup for tonight’s match against Dundee.

After coming on to replace Stephen Welsh against Motherwell on Sunday, the former Legia Warsaw player had to leave after an hour and be replaced by Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The former Spurs player has been plagued by injuries all season, but he is expected to start against Dundee tonight as the race for the SPFL title heats up.

Q. How is the squad looking injury-wise? There is a suggestion that Maik Nawrocki is injured. Is that true?

Yes. He has picked up a niggle and felt his hamstring in the game so that will set him out, I don’t think for too long, but a period of time.

Q. Is Cameron Carter-Vickers ready to come back in from the start or will he need managing?

Carter-Vickers will need managing but he is ready to start if need be. You see the difference when he comes into the game at the weekend. He’s a top operator but we just have to be mindful of his minutes and his time.

Fortunately, Liam Scales has been injury-free, appearing in every match since joining the team at home against St Johnstone at the end of August.

Gus Lagerbielke is still on the sidelines after Celtic cancelled his loan move to Lecce, but the Swede has not appeared in a matchday squad since the winter break.

With Hearts coming up at Tynecastle on Sunday, Rodgers will be hoping Carter-Vickers and Welsh can play tonight without injury.
