‘It’s ridiculous’: Chris Sutton slams the Premier League following Nottingham Forest FFP update

Chris Sutton has hit back at the Premier League after Nottingham Forest decided to appeal their four-point deduction for violating financial fair play regulations.

Of course, Forest broke the rules and should be punished for their actions as a football club. However, the Premier League still has some questions to answer.

Some news has emerged that calls into question the league that many consider to be the best in the world. Andros Townsend slammed the Forest situation earlier today, while Everton also faces another charge.

Chris Sutton He can’t believe what he’s heard the Premier League may do to Forest and Everton.
Sutton rarely says anything positive about Forest. However, in this case, he has targeted the Premier League for how they have handled these charges.

Forest has until April 12th to submit their appeal claims to an independent panel. Then it’s anyone’s guess when the Reds will get their results.

That simply won’t do, and this could be the most turbulent Premier League season in history. It appears that point deductions will be the dominant factor, and Sutton is not pleased.

He told The Monday Night Club, “It’s ridiculous, isn’t it? How can teams finish the season and think they’ve stayed up but they haven’t? It just can’t happen. This needs wrapping up and wrapping up quickly.”

In our opinion, Sutton has a point, and the entire situation is now ridiculous. Alex Crook believes Forest took a risk, and now the waiting game begins again.

Even with a four-point deduction, Forest’s season is far from over. They are just one point behind Luton in the Premier League, with nine games remaining.

Forest have some very winnable games coming up, and they have a better run-in than the Hatters, who face Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City in the coming weeks.

Forest must return to the pitch and put boardroom issues aside. The Reds should have been out of sight before Luton scored a late equaliser the last time out, and it is time for the players to accept responsibility.

Sutton is correct, though. The Premier League’s handling of these FFP charges cases has been nothing short of farcical, and things must change in that regard.
