Ange Postecoglou makes assertion about Rangers vs Celtic ahead of Sunday.
Glasgow Rangers and Celtic will face off in one of the most crucial Glasgow derbies on Sunday at Ibrox.
The Gers and the Bhoys are currently separated by only one point in the league, with Philippe Clement’s team trailing Brendan Rodgers’ charges.
Celtic presently lead with 74 points from 31 games, while Rangers are second with 73 points – and, crucially, have a game in hand on the Hoops.
Rangers and Celtic will meet at Ibrox on Sunday in a game that might decide who wins the title at the conclusion of the season.
The Glasgow derby is one of the most intense in the world, and Ange Postecoglou has plenty of experience with it.
From 2021 to 2023, the Australian managed Celtic, winning two Premiership titles, two Scottish League Cups, and one Scottish Cup during that time.
Postecoglou may have moved from Parkhead to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but he still plans to watch the game on Sunday.
What did Ange Postecoglou say regarding Rangers vs Celtic?
I’ll definitely be watching,” Postecoglou said at Spurs’ pre-match press conference ahead of the Nottingham Forest game, posted on YouTube.
“It’s one of the biggest rivalries in world football. I am very much on the green and white side and I know what it means to the supporters to win that game.
“As much as we talk about derbies and they mean more, this one does.
“I lived and breathed it for a couple of years and it’s a really important game for both clubs, and you look at how tight the table is this year and it takes on extra significance.
“It’ll be a cracking game and I’ll be tuning in.”
It’s encouraging to hear Postecoglou still speak favourably of Celtic and the Glasgow derby.
With six hours between the start of the derby and Tottenham’s encounter against Nottingham Forest, the Australian will have the opportunity to watch the contest, which he hopes will be a good sight.
