Celtic F.C
At today’s press conference, Brendan Rodgers has three pressing questions.
In the aftermath of his team’s Scottish Cup semifinal match against Aberdeen on Sunday, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers will speak to the media later today.
This will be the manager’s first game at Hampden since he orchestrated a 1-0 victory over the Dons in the 2018 League Cup final. The supporters of the Hoops would be happy with a similar outcome tomorrow.
The boss is expected to preview the game during his press conference today, but that won’t be the only thing on his mind. Thus, these are the three main issues that Rodgers needs to address.
Twists in Titles
In the title race, there have been quite a few turns since the Celts defeated St. Mirren 3-0 at home last Saturday.
Rangers dropped 3-2 in Dingwall and then struggled to a goalless draw at Dens Park on Wednesday; with five games remaining, the Bhoys now lead the table by three points.
Such outcomes will quietly inspire Rodgers, but he probably won’t say much in front of the media. Watch what he says later. Let’s wait.
Situation in the centre half
Last weekend, Maik Nawrocki replaced Liam Scales, and the Polish defender didn’t appear out of place.
But throughout the season, Rodgers has given Scales more playing time. Following the St. Mirren game, he disclosed that Scales’ injury is not too serious and that, ideally, he will recover.
An additional update on his condition would be appreciated, but since Nawrocki performed admirably last Saturday, it would also be interesting to know the manager’s perspective on the overall situation at the centre of defence.
Divided Fixtures Opinion
The crucial split schedule was revealed by the SPFL on Tuesday. Celtic will play at home against Hearts, Rangers, and St. Mirren, and will travel to Dundee and Rugby Park.
Although Rodgers asserted last week that the Horops are at their best this late in the season, they still have some formidable obstacles to overcome.
Later on today, when the manager speaks, faxsoccer will provide you with updates.
