Cabot proposed a legendary quarterback as a possibility for Cleveland if they face a predicament similar to last year.

Last season, the Cleveland Browns signed 38-year-old quarterback Joe Flacco in November following Deshaun Watson’s season-ending shoulder surgery.

Flacco returned to the NFL for five regular-season games, tossing 1,616 yards and 13 touchdowns to go 4-1 and win the NFL Comeback Player of the Year honor.

While Watson is mending his shoulder and is anticipated to return to the field in 2024, Cleveland signed veteran quarterbacks Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley during free agency as backups in case Watson is unable to play.

Mary Kay Cabot recently mentioned another alternative if Watson is sidelined for the season and neither Winston nor Huntley are capable of filling that role.

On this week’s “Orange And Brown Talk” podcast, Cabot proposed a legendary quarterback as a possibility for Cleveland if they face a predicament similar to last year.

“I have the plan B, Dan: Tom Brady,” Cabot told co-host Dan Labbe.

Labbe agreed that Brady has hinted at a possible return this season.

“We know that he is ageless, and he is somehow reversing the aging process,” Cabot joked.

Cabot said that Brady would be a plug-and-play option for the Browns, citing the offensive talent surrounding Cleveland’s quarterback.

“He would certainly be on my list,” Cabot added.

Labbe reminded listeners that the Browns signed Mike Vrabel as a consultant, pointing out that Vrabel and Brady were colleagues in New England.

“Maybe they have an in,” Labbe remarked about Vrabel’s connection to Brady.
