Sunderland duo emerge on Ipswich Town’s transfer radar

Published

on

Ipswich Town has added Sunderland players Dan Ballard and Pierre Ekwah to its transfer shortlist, as per TBR Football.
After a dismal season, Sunderland will once again play in the Championship, while Ipswich Town had an incredible season that propelled them to the Premier League.

Back-to-back promotions for the Tractor Boys will go down as one of the Football League’s greatest feats, but after the fun fades, all attention will be directed towards getting ready for a significant upgrade.
At Portman Road, new signings will be essential, and many connections with potential targets have already surfaced.

Two new names have just surfaced on the transfer radar for Ipswich Town.

Town has their sights set on Sunderland players Dan Ballard and Pierre Ekwah, according to a TBR Football report. The former West Ham and Arsenal players are among the standout players that the Black Cats may lose this summer.

Ballard and Ekawh are two players that Ipswich intends to sign in order to leverage their experience with the Championship by selecting players who they believe can successfully transition from the second division to the Premier League.

Sunderland’s sales?

Sunderland is still a driven team, and they intend to return to the playoffs the following year. They will be hoping to retain the services of their top performers in their endeavour to do so.

Among them are Ballard and Ekwah, who have developed significantly during their stay on Wearside. Therefore, it’s possible that they leave even though you want to keep them on board.

Ballard, a 24-year-old fixture in Northern Ireland, joined the Black Cats from Arsenal and has made 66 appearances for them. He is among a number of players at the Stadium of Light who many believe have what it takes to advance to the top division of football.

Regarding Ekwah, he has grown in significance since his arrival in January 2023 and has progressed well. He still has the best years of his career ahead of him at the age of 22.

Ipswich Town’s interest, therefore

It makes sense that teams like Ipswich Town are interested in these current Championship stars because they have the capacity and potential to test themselves at a higher level.

McKenna will undoubtedly have a lot of faith in the team that led the team to the Premier League, but Ballard and Ekwah might be wise additions if they sign new players.

Although they aren’t the only ones interested in the Sunderland players, Ipswich is wise to pursue them as they weigh their options before the transfer window opens.
