Ola Aina now shares what Kyle Walker said after Nottingham Forest star sprinted past him in recent 2-0 defeat
Ola Aina recently hit the headlines at Nottingham Forest following a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City, after embarrassing Kyle Walker.
The Nigerian international recently outran the England international in a footrace down the left flank at the City Ground. The England international is thought to be among the fastest football players in Europe, if not the fastest.

The moment was even shared on the Premier League’s official social media accounts, complete with an emoji of a shocked face.
Kyle Walker’s remarks to Ola Aina
“I remember when it happened I thought, I might as well just try it – and I put everything into it,” the 27-year-old said in an interview with the Guardian.
He was quite relaxed about it, though, and said something like, “You’re pretty quick,” and “You caught me flat footed.” He has repeatedly acted in the same way towards other players.
That was unmistakable proof that Nuno Espirito Santo has a true speed demon at Nottingham Forest.
Aina, who also revealed an odd revelation regarding Mark Clattenburg in an interview with the Guardian, has had a fantastic 2023–24 season since joining on a free transfer from Torino back in July.
The Southwark native has made 21 Premier League appearances this year, contributing one assist and one goal. Kelvin Wilson recently stated that he believes the Nigerian international has been a great addition to the team.
Nottingham Forest wants to sign a new deal.
Aina only agreed to a one-year contract in July, so unless Nottingham Forest extends it, he will be free to leave the City Ground.
The Telegraph claims that Garibaldi intends to carry out this exact action, which will activate an option to extend his contract by an additional 12 months in the event that he continues to put up strong performances this season.
Following their victory in the Championship play-off final in May 2022, Nottingham Forest adopted a somewhat haphazard approach to hiring, with the acquisitions of Jonjo Shelvey and Andre Ayew standing out as especially peculiar and needless.
But getting Aina on a free transfer and spending £3 million to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi—a player Gary Lineker believes has significantly improved under Nuno Espirito Santo—were both excellent moves.
