MURILLO VOTED PLAYER OF THE SEASON
Murillo has been voted the 2023–24 Forest supporters’ Player of the Season.
The Brazilian has made a name for himself as one of the most exciting young defenders in world football after having an incredible first season in the Premier League.
Since joining from Corinthians last summer, the 21-year-old has made 35 appearances across all competitions this season, starting all of his Premier League games.
Murillo has captured the attention of fans, players, and commentators alike this season with his passing range, last-minute challenges, versatility, and ability to step in from defence and go on crazy solo runs.
On Boxing Day, he provided his first Premier League assist against Newcastle, spotting Chris Wood’s run behind the Newcastle defence with an impeccably accurate left-footed pass.
Even though the defender is still yet to score in the Premier League, he has gone very close several times, narrowly missing three incredible opportunities.
He received the ball on halfway in his Premier League away debut, a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace. He then danced through the Crystal Palace midfield, broke into the area, and saw two close-range attempts saved.
The defender has also shown his ability to locate a target from 70 yards out in away games against Luton Town and Tottenham Hotspur, where he narrowly missed scoring from inside his own half.

Undoubtedly, Murillo has relished his first season in English football; in his first interview in the country last month, he insisted that playing in the Premier League was “a dream” at all.
We appreciate all of the votes cast for Player of the Season this year.
