According to Daniel Taylor of The Athletic, Leeds United are in a “vulnerable” position and could risk losing Crysencio Summerville this summer due to Nottingham Forest’s potential interest.
It was stated during Taylor’s Q&A session on Forest [May 28] that the club had expressed a strong interest in Summerville two years prior, when the Dutchman was estimated to be worth roughly £2 million.
Leeds now faces the risk of a possible raid for its most valuable assets after losing to Southampton in the Championship play-off final on Sunday, May 26. Summerville is a top target for several Premier League teams as well as teams overseas.
“I know Forest gave Crysencio Summerville a lot of thought two years ago,” Taylor remarked.
In retrospect, he was one of those players that maybe Forest should have pursued because he was inexpensive at the time—roughly £2 million.

Does that imply that they will pursue him right away? It wouldn’t surprise me, but I’m merely speculating. I really don’t know. This summer, Leeds will, to put it mildly, be exposed.
After Leeds United’s loss at Wembley, Summerville and others may depart the team.
Leeds United’s transfer window may be particularly difficult this summer given their inability to immediately return to the Premier League.
While manager Daniel Farke appears to be staying put, Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto, and Georginio Rutter—three of their star players—may be on their way out of Elland Road.

In addition to pointing out that some of Leeds’ best players would be miffed at the prospect of spending another season outside of the top division, Phil Hay reaffirmed the fact that the club will need to sell players in order to satisfy EFL financial requirements.
Without a doubt, Summerville is one of them. Premier League calibre, the Championship Player of the Year will probably be reluctantly but surely removed from Farke’s starting lineup in the next few weeks.
Leeds will be desperate to hang on to other key players like Archie Grey and Illan Meslier, but any big bids will undoubtedly put the team’s resolve to the test.
