Long-term contract agreed upon; first Celtic summer exit on the horizon.
Oh Hyeon-gyu, a Celtic striker, is close to joining KRC Genk after agreeing to personal terms with the Belgian club.
According to Belgian reports, Genk is discussing a £4.2 million transfer fee and potential bonuses with Celtic to complete the transfer.
Oh joined Celtic under Ange Postecoglou, and while he showed promise, consistency eluded him, leading his decision to seek regular playing time elsewhere. This transfer is viewed as part of his efforts to gain a permanent spot on the South Korean national squad.
He apparently signed a long-term contract with the club.

The likely departure of Oh is symbolic of bigger changes at Celtic Park, with the club expected to undergo a significant squad makeover this summer. The departure of multiple players intends to streamline the team and eliminate underperforming individuals, which is an important step as the club seeks to strengthen for the forthcoming season.
With Oh’s expected departure and Adam Idah returning to Norwich following his loan, Celtic’s immediate priority will be to improve their striking options, as they presently only have Kyogo.
The impressive fee Celtic might collect for Hyeongyu Oh is revealed amid Genk interest.
