Wolves refocus on previous £15 million transfer objective following Max Kilman sale.

Wolves are reportedly’redoubling their emphasis’ on one of their targets following the sale of Max Kilman to West Ham United.

Wolves sold Kilman for £40 million this weekend, marking their first summer sale.

Wolves had demanded £45 million, but eventually agreed to take £40 million from their fellow Premier League team.

After Julen Lopetegui took over as manager, West Ham made Kilman a top priority.

Kilman is currently the fourth-largest sale in Wolves history, and the club’s deal has been praised despite the fact that the player was signed for only £40,000.

Wolves are expected to hunt for a replacement, and one player appears to be back in the Wanderers’ sights.

Wolves focuses on David Carmo following Max Kilman’s move to West Ham.

According to the Record, Wolves could now focus on David Carmo, who has returned to FC Porto after a loan spell with Olympiacos last season.

Carmo joined the Greek giants halfway in 2023/24 and had a significant impact for them.

Olympiacos won the Europa Conference League, and Carmo was named to the Tournament Team after a streak of strong performances.

With Kilman being moved, there is certainly some speculation that Wolves may look for a replacement central defender.

Carmo is thought to be a player who the Wolves like, and they have’redoubled their efforts’ on him after selling Kilman.

Porto may consider signing Carmo at a reasonable fee this summer due to financial constraints. Porto’s original asking price was roughly £15 million, but they may be willing to accept less.

However, Wolves will face competition from Olympiacos, who would like to re-sign him after having him for the second half of the previous season.

Carmo would be an ideal Kilman successor.

It’s encouraging to hear that the Wolves are focussing on Carmo, who on paper appears to be a suitable successor for Kilman.

The Angola international is left-footed and physically imposing, much like the old Molineux captain. He can also play in a back three or four.

However, Carmo is said to have good leadership qualities, and we know that Wolves have been very focused on signing the proper people in recent years. We saw what fantastic additions Craig Dawson and Mario Lemina made when they arrived in mid-2022/23.

Wolves have plenty of time in the window to evaluate possible targets.

However, Carmo may be the right man for the task.

However, with Olympiacos on the case, there may be some pressure to do things swiftly.
