Murillo Intriguing Instagram Reaction About New Nottingham Star
Nottingham Forest finally announced the signing of custodian Carlos Miguel this week, capping off a lengthy saga.
After weeks of speculation, the Brazilian stopper has signed a four-year contract at the City Ground.
Miguel joined Forest from Corinthians, where he briefly played alongside Reds defender Murillo.
It was reported this week that Miguel spoke with Forest star Murillo prior to signing terms, and the two appear to get along.
After the custodian checked in, the defender broke his silence and enthusiastically welcomed him.
Murillo reacts as Nottingham Forest signs Carlos Miguel.
The 22-year-old appears pleased to see his former teammate return to Trentside.
So much so that he appears to have decided who will play custodian for the Reds next season.
Murillo took to Instagram to welcome the player to Forest, simply writing, “The best custodian.”
The centre-back accompanied his message with a series of emojis, including two flames.
Miguel has the potential to star at Forest.
The custodian is now officially the Premier League’s tallest player, standing 6 feet 8 inches.
Naturally, he will be evaluated based on his performance for the Reds, and he should provide strong competition for Matz Sels.
This comment from Murillo may not go down well with the Belgian, who has yet to return from Belgium duty at Euro 2024.
Miguel cost Forest around £4 million, and Nuno Espirito Santo has yet to decide which stopper he will use next season.
However, given how confident he sounded in his first interview with the club, it would seem that Miguel won’t be content with being a number two at Forest.
