Celtic Star Flies Out Tonight to Seal Move Away
According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Celtic keeper Benjamin Siegrist is scheduled to have a medical with Rapid Bucharest before completing his transfer from the Glasgow club.
The custodian has been with Celtic since June 2022, but has yet to establish himself as the first-choice goalkeeper.
During his two-year stint, the 32-year-old made only two appearances and is now set to leave.
Siegrist is on the verge of a move to Romania, where Rapid Bucharest has been trying to sign him.
In fact, Siegrist is flying into Bucharest this evening, where he will be put through his medical tests.
Siegrist has already agreed to a two-year contract with Rapid Bucharest, with the club having the option to extend it by another year.
Siegrist will play under former Celtic manager Neil Lennon, who took over in May.
Siegrist came through Aston Villa’s youth academy but never had the opportunity to make an impact there.
