Blues ‘target’ leaves followers guessing after cryptic social media posts.
Reported Pompey target Harvey Blair has left his social media followers guessing with his two most recent posts on X, formerly Twitter.
In recent days, the 20-year-old has uploaded two black and white images of himself wearing his Liverpool jersey, which many have interpreted as a sign that he is about to leave Anfield.
A report over the weekend stating that the Premier League club would not stand in the way of the youngster if a suitable offer came in did not quell speculation about his future. Pompey, who expressed an interest in the Huddersfield-born talent last summer, are once again being linked with the forward.
Meanwhile, Blair’s absence from Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Ipswich on Saturday, as well as the under-21s’ 3-1 victory over Manchester City in Premier League 2, will fuel speculation that he is on his way out of Anfield.
Many, however, believe his most recent social media posts indicate a move away for the Liverpool academy product.
DO NOT SAY YOUR LEAVING BLAIR

@AudsleyLFC commented on Blair’s August 13 post: ‘DO NOT SAY YOUR LEAVING BLAIR’. And that was the same perplexing response @Cxzza17 posted shortly afterward. They said, ‘Don’t tell me you’re leaving Harv’. @CasparTheFarmer replied, ‘last black and white picture he posted was when klopp left, may 20th’

Another post from @thegreatnuahh simply said, ‘Leaving?’ Meanwhile, @BongsSimel79727 wrote: ‘Please don’t go out on loan, boy. You have what it takes to play for the senior team.’
Another one leaving?

A similar response greeted Blair’s most recent upload on August 15. It was also published in black and white, with him wearing Liverpool training gear. There were also no words to accompany the photograph. @Crypto_Maximal responded: ‘Another one leaving?’ @UNCONFORMEDCF responded with: ‘It was a good run, mate.’

Blair, whose only senior appearance for the Reds came against Preston in the 2021-22 Carabao Cup, can play anywhere on the forward line. He made only five under-21 appearances last season due to a knee injury sustained in July 2023, which kept him out until December. The exciting forward then suffered an injury setback in the new year, limiting him to a few Premier League 2 appearances off the bench during the second half of the 2023-24 season.
The 20-year-old appears to have put those injury concerns to rest as he participated in Liverpool’s pre-season training, which included matches against Real Betis, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Las Palmas.
If the latest link is correct, with John Mousinho missing seven players for Saturday’s goalless draw against Luton, including forwards Colby Bishop, Josh Murphy, Kusini Yengi, and Gavin Whyte. This is good news for the Blues.
Mousinho told The News on Saturday that he expects Pompey to unveil a couple of new signings next week.
Reading are also reportedly interested in Blair, who transfermarkt.com values at €100,000.
