Celtic agreeing to sell Mikey Johnston to Sheffield United is expected to make the path towards signing Auston Trusty smoother, according to Sky Sports News.
As the summer transfer window nears its close, the Bhoys are becoming more active in the transfer market. On Wednesday, left-back Alex Valle is expected to be confirmed.
On loan from the Bhoys, Gustaf Lagerbielke joined FC Twente. Brendan Rodgers is trying to sign a central defender.
Rodgers is an admirer of Sheffield United’s Trusty, a versatile central defender, and his team has made a £5 million bid for the player.
The Celtic winger Johnston has drawn interest from the Blades as well, and it has now been reported that they have agreed to a £2.5 million deal for him.
It’s been suggested that signing Trusty would be easier if Celtic agreed to sell Johnston to Sheffield United.
Trusty only became a Blade last summer after making a strong impression while on loan at Birmingham City.
Arsenal brought the American international to Europe, but he was unable to make an impression at the Emirates Stadium.
