Speaking with Tipsbladet, he gave an insight into the type of players Canaries fans might see in the coming windows.

It’s a little early to talk about the January transfer window, as the previous one closed less than a month ago.

In addition, no manager can guarantee that they will still be in charge of a team in three months, especially in today’s environment.

Norwich have had a mixed start to the 2024/25 season, losing their first game 2-0 to Oxford United.

The Canaries were extremely poor on that day, and it appeared that they might have a long season ahead.

However, they have managed to accumulate a reasonable number of points, with last weekend’s 4-1 victory over Watford likely boosting their confidence.

Thorup’s side played some good football against the Hornets, and they benefited greatly from their summer signings, with Callum Doyle and Ben Chrisene both scoring.

Norwich’s manager will be hoping that his summer signings can continue to have an impact in the coming months, with plenty of players coming in to replace those who left.

Thorup has revealed that Norwich will continue to look at the Danish market, where Schwartau was previously recruited.

Speaking to Tipsbladet (via Sport Witness), he stated: “It is no secret that we are looking in that market as well, because there are many young and talented Danish players.

“I also still think that we can afford to say that Anis (Ben Slimane) is a young or semi-young Danish player. So, it is interesting for us, and it is a market we continue to look in.

“In the end, it will be the quality that determines it and not the fit. But it is a market we are keeping an eye on.”

The Danish market may allow Norwich City to become more unpredictable.

Mark Attanasio (pictured above), who is set to become Norwich’s majority shareholder in March, will need to find ways to lift his team out of this division.

Competition for promotion will only increase in the coming years, and it’s clear that they’ll need something special if they want to return to the Premier League.

Thorup appears to be very familiar with the Danish market, which could benefit the Canaries.

Other Championship teams may be unfamiliar with this market, so bringing in some talented Danish players could help the Canaries become more unpredictable in a positive way.

It will be interesting to see if this market is more active in January.
