Kyogo Furuhashi is Idah’s Celtic ‘role model’
Kyogo Furuhashi and Idah are directly vying for a starting position in Celtic’s matchday roster. Nevertheless, the Irishman admits that he is picking up tips from the Japanese striker and believes he appreciates a friendly competition for that spot.
Idah told the Daily Record, “Look, I’ve got a job to do and that is to score goals, whether I start or I’m on the bench it doesn’t really matter in my head.

Like Kyogo, I aim to score as many goals as I can this season. We both want to score goals and support this club, and he is a wonderful player, so I don’t think it matters to him whether he starts or comes off the bench. We seem to be off to a decent start this season, in my opinion.
Do I believe we bring out the best in one another? Yes, without a doubt. It is a cordial rivalry. The same is true in training; we always put in a lot of effort and get along well.We get along well, and I help him just as much as he helps me. It’s fantastic, he’s a terrific role model and player to look up to, and I can learn a few things from him on the pitch too.”
