Celtic Fans Face TV Blackout For Exciting Tie
This afternoon’s TV blackout is disappointing for Celtics supporters.
The under-19 teams of the two teams will play one other in the UEFA Youth League earlier in the day since the senior team of the Hoops takes on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League tonight.
Two weeks ago, Stephen McManus’ team had an ideal start to their European campaign, crushing Slovan Bratislava 4-0 at Lesser Hampden.
Following their weekend 2-2 draw with Hearts, the young players are currently in Germany in preparation for a demanding match against Dortmund.
Today’s game begins at 3 p.m. at the training facility of the German powerhouse.
While supporters in Germany are able to attend the game, individuals in other countries are unable to witness the action in real time. In fact, neither TNT nor UEFA nor Celtic are streaming the hotly anticipated clash.
The Hoops’ YouTube account will probably have highlights later today or maybe tomorrow, but it is frustrating that fans won’t be able to see the entire 90 minutes of the game as it happens.
Similar to the first squad, Celtic’s B team has had a strong start to the season. They haven’t lost a game thus far and are presently ranked second in the Lowland League.
They had a successful start to their Youth League campaign two weeks ago, and McManus will be hoping for a repeat performance in Germany later today.
