Adidas Eye Blockbuster Celtic Extension After €34m Kit Success
Footy Headlines claims that Adidas and Celtic plan to continue their fruitful clothing cooperation. Beginning in the 2020–2021 season and ending at the end of the 2024–2025 campaign, the current agreement has shown to be a huge commercial success for both sides. However, there is no clear information yet on how many further seasons the new arrangement would cover.
The five-year agreement between Celtic and Adidas was heralded as the largest kit sponsorship announcement in Scottish sports history when it was first made. With Celtic entering the top 20 best-selling clubs in 2023 and earning an astounding £29 million (€34 million) in kit sales alone, the relationship has undoubtedly lived up to its hype. This is a blatant sign of the powerful
demand for Celtic-branded Adidas products, and both the club and the sportswear giant are understandably keen to continue their collaboration.
Prior to landing the lucrative Adidas contract, Celtic had already moved between major kit suppliers, first going from Umbro to Nike and then New Balance. Any renewal is expected to be another huge deal given the success of the existing collaboration; however, the specific terms will depend on the number of years in the contract.
Adidas has provided more than just the three first-team uniforms per season; in addition, they have an enormous selection of training wear, jerseys with limited editions, and even sneakers with the Celtics’ name. Their prodigious output has made them a hit with Celtic fans, and it seems the German sportswear giant is similarly happy with the connection.
