Celtic Put Match-Worn Shirts from 7-1 Dortmund Defeat Up for Auction
Fans now have the opportunity to own a piece of Celtic’s European trip, even though it ended on a difficult night in Germany, as the club has put their match-worn shirts from their 7-1 Champions League loss to Borussia Dortmund up for sale on Match Worn Shirts.
The Hoops’ perfect start to the season came to a crashing end as they were overwhelmed by a Borussia Dortmund team led by the explosive Karim Adeyemi. The night belonged to the Bundesliga heavyweights, even though Daizen Maeda momentarily tied the score following Emre Can’s early penalty. With goals from Felix Nmecha, Adeyemi, and Serhou Guirassy, the German team easily defeated Celtic and sent them packing for the Champions League.
Fans can now bid on these match-used shirts from Celtic, with all earnings going to the Celtic FC Foundation. With Callum McGregor’s shirt now leading the bidding at £273 and Greg Taylor’s at £118, supporters have the opportunity to own mementos from a memorable, if challenging, period in the club’s European campaign.
Supporters can place bids on these game-used shirts through October 12th. It’s unlikely that the costs will rise to the levels they would have if Celtic had received a positive outcome or at the very least had a less humiliating experience.
