George Baldock: Former Sheffield United defender who was on Celtic Radar Dies aged 31
Sheffield United star George Baldock is back on the transfer radar of Celtic.
George Baldock, a former football player in the Premier League, passed away at age 31.
According to police sources who spoke to Reuters, the Greek defender was discovered in his swimming pool at his residence in the Glyfada area of southern Athens on Wednesday.
His death’s cause is still a mystery.
Baldock joined from MK Dons in 2017 and played for Sheffield United for seven years.
When he joined Greek team Panathinaikos earlier this year, he had made over 200 appearances for the team.
In a post on X, Sheffield United said the club is “shocked and extremely saddened” to learn of his death.
