New Position Suggested for Reo Hatate in Japan Team Amidst Another Snub
Reo Hatate of Celtic was again passed over by Hajime Moriyasu on Thursday, as he was left out of the starting lineup as Japan defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0.
The central midfielder traveled to the Far East during the most recent international break, but he did not play against China or Bahrain.
He didn’t get the chance to record his tenth senior cap for his nation, but he at least made the bench against the Saudis this time.
When Australia visits Saitama tomorrow morning, he hopes to have a few minutes.
The 26-year-old is content to be in the squad and wants to do everything in his power to assist the side get better, despite the fact that it is annoying to be left as a substitute all the time.
With Moriyasu lining up in a 3-4-2-1 formation the last few matches, it has been suggested in Japan [Life] that Hatate could take up a berth in the left or right wing-back roles.
The midfielder was a skilled left back at his last team, Kawasaki Frontale, and has occasionally played right back for Celtic. He did it well each time and would certainly not hesitate to do it again.
The central midfielder hasn’t done anything to light Celtic’s fire at the start of the current season.
However, he has displayed his skill in spurts with two goals and an assist. But in the face of fierce competition from players like Paulo Bernardo and Arne Engels, Hatate needs to demonstrate his skills more frequently.
