Jamie Carragher hails Chris Wood’s start to the season for Nottingham Forest
The New Zealand player got a pass in the area, twisted on the spot, and then put a fantastic effort into the bottom-right corner for his first.
Wood then nipped in and nodded the ball into the net, taking advantage of Wout Faes’ shoddy header back towards goal following Matz Sels’ goal kick.
Jamie Carragher of Sky Sports was amazed by the Forest striker’s heroics at the King Power Stadium and enthusiastically praised him.
Carragher, speaking on Sky Sports towards the end of the game, declared Wood his man of the match.
“Chris Wood is my man of the match,” he said. “Premier League strikers will be looking at his first goal and marvelling at it.”
Carragher also said live on air, as transcribed by BBC Sport: “What a performance and what a start to the season Chris Wood has had.”
