Gary Neville admits Nottingham Forest star has seriously surprised him
It looks like exciting days are ahead for Forest this season as they are busy surprising a lot of commentators.
With Chris Wood, who earns £80,000 a week, Forest has a player in excellent form who is the envy of several Premier League teams.
He said on Sky Sports: “We thought a player like Chris Wood in the last five, six, seven, eight years would probably be extinct.
On Friday night, Wood scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season, and Neville acknowledged that the Forest star had taken him by surprise.
“This type of direct play, the requirement for a big man up forward, and the image of this massive lump of a center-forward at 6′ 2″ or 3′ that isn’t quick, probably—I mean, he is a handful but they seem to be just coming back a little bit.”
“The forest play right to his strengths because they are quite direct.”
