Nottingham Forest and Chelsea have been fined after players clashed during their Premier League meeting
Nottingham Forest and Chelsea have been fined after players clashed during their Premier League meeting on October 6.
After it was claimed that the clubs had neglected to make sure their players “didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 88th minute” of the game, they were charged.
An FA representative confirmed that Forest and Chelsea have been fined £125,000 and £40,000, respectively, for the incident, and both clubs have accepted the allegation.
In the last moments of their 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, a brawl broke out after Forest defender Neco Williams shoved Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella, knocking down Blues manager Enzo Maresca in the process.
The altercation, which involved almost all 22 players as well as substitutes and staff, led to Cucurella receiving his fifth yellow card of the season and Williams and Levi Colwill receiving bookings.
