Tony roper spotted filming at Celtic Park
A well-known celebrity appears to be on site as Celtic prepares their Christmas advertisement.
Before Celtic’s match against Dundee on Wednesday, Celtic Park fans noticed Tony Roper, who is best known for playing Jamesie Cotter in Rab C. Nesbitt, at the corner flag wearing pyjama bottoms and this season’s home shirt.
The idea that Roper is participating in this year’s festive spectacle, which is typically a hit with Celtic supporters, has been stoked by his appearance.
Anyone know what Jamesie Cotter was up to last night just before kickoff? I always use to see him standing outside the main stand on a match day with his pals, all you could hear was…. “Alright Jamesie” and Tony acknowledged every supporter that said hello, a true Celtic man💚 pic.twitter.com/QaaEIdZ8lB

Roper, a lifetime Celtics fan, has experience working on the team’s communications initiatives. He previously narrated Hoops We Did It Again for the 2001–02 season and The Treble VHS/DVD, which celebrated Celtic’s treble-winning season in 2000–01. Additionally, he was the author and director of The Celts in Seville, a play that celebrated Celtic’s 2003 march to the UEFA Cup Final and had two successful runs at Glasgow’s Pavilion Theatre in 2008 and 2014.
The Christmas commercial will soon be released as November approaches.
While it may be a bit early to start celebrating Christmas, Celtic is, predictably, making every effort to ensure that the Christmas commercial meets the high standards that fans have come to expect.
