Brendan Rodgers’ team recorded another Champions League home win against RB Leipzig last night.

The Champions League was revamped for the 2024/25 season, and Celtic are enjoying the new format.

With two wins, one draw, and one loss, the Hoops are currently 13th in the 36-team league, and are well on track for a round of 16 play-off spot if their current form continues — they could also skip that round of fixtures and qualify automatically. Points, in the end, translate into prizes, and the club has banked a slew of Champions League cash in recent years, with their current run looking to be as lucrative as ever.

Brendan Rodgers’ side is in good shape ahead of their next home euro match against Club Brugge at the end of the month, thanks to a sensational Nicolas Kuhn double and a Reo Hatate goal. Fans were cautiously optimistic when the draw was made that their favorable fixtures would propel them to the knockout rounds, and they are well on their way now, but how much money have they already banked?

UEFA pays out money for wins and draws in the new league phase, but nothing goes to the losing team. The prize money in the league phase is £1.77 million for a win and £589,868 for a draw; these figures are based on €2.1 million per win and €700,000 per draw, respectively.

So, after only four games in the competition, Celtic have earned approximately £4,129,868 from their on-field performances alone. This does not account for any gate receipts or additional bonuses, such as UEFA’s new value pillars, which assign a team a rank 1-36 and pay out based on that rank and the end of the league phase. Rodgers’ side has already received £15.7 million for advancing to the league phase after winning the Scottish Premiership last season.

While no one wants to get ahead of themselves, the rewards for progression are, as expected, quite lucrative.

Winner: €25 million (£21.07 million).

Runner-up: €18.5 million (£15.59 million)

Quarterfinalists: €12.5 million (£10.53 million).

Round of 16: €11 million (£9.27 million).

Reaching the knockout round play-off: €1 million (£842,669)
