Despite finishing in the top four at Christmas, Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo claims his team is remaining “humble.”

After defeating Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Brentford, the Reds will host Tottenham at the City Ground on Boxing Day in an attempt to win four in a row.

Nuno was eager to emphasize that despite their high status, his team has not yet accomplished anything.

He said: “I’m always confident since the beginning and even last season.

“Always confident the good work and dedication and commitment can achieve good results and I’m very proud of the players – the way they work every day, staying humble and recognising we have a lot of things to improve and a long way to go.

“Very pleased that players are stepping in (to help contribute goals) either on set-piece situations or (from) our centre-halves. It’s important and many players are having good chances and it’s crucial that anyone can help.

“The players are the ones who make things happen. They are the ones who make things happen, so give them credit even if you can try to do everything you want with the details.

Visitors on Boxing Day Despite having the most goals in the Premier League, Tottenham is in the bottom part of the standings.

Liverpool defeated them 6-3 in their most recent game, and manager Ange Postecoglou has come under fire for not changing his aggressive strategy.

But Nuno emphasised his respect for the Australian, saying: “Every team has their own decisions to make.

“What I have is a lot of respect for Ange, he’s a gentleman in football, a good manager and what he has is a good squad and he wants to implement his own ideas, own decisions. It’s up to them.

“There are so many things that can happen and change through the course of the game.

“What we need to do now is prepare for the game and then throughout the game it’s matter of questions and answers continually.”
