Sean Dyche sends Everton warning over key Nottingham Forest
Everton manager Sean Dyche is wary of the threat posed by his former striker Chris Wood as Nottingham Forest prepare for their final Premier League visit to Goodison Park. The Blues boss made the New Zealand international Burnley’s record signing when he splashed out an undisclosed fee understood to be £15million to take him from Leeds United in August 2017.
Having scored 10 goals in 17 games for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team so far this season, Wood is on track to surpass his greatest Premier League goal total for a campaign when he scored 14 goals for Forest last season, matching his total for Dyche’s Clarets in 2019–20.
“Perhaps his maturity in the game, his knowledge of the game,” Dyche responded when asked why the now 33-year-old might be reveling in such a purple patch. There, they’re using a different format for him, which he seems to like.He has strength and wide players on his side. They swiftly bring the ball to him, which appears to be advantageous to him.
It’s not all that different from what we were attempting to accomplish at Burnley. Perhaps the structure is different, but I believe he deserves a lot of praise for his professionalism in managing himself.
When he first arrived, he experienced a period of quietness and some doubts about himself. Strikers can experience this, and he has overcome it in the past. He is undoubtedly a really skilled player, and I greatly admire him.
