Nottingham Forest star Alex Moreno shows where his heart is at with 2025 post amid Aston Villa loan
Alex Moreno hints at Nottingham Forest future in social media post
Posting on X to bring in the new year, the Spanish full-back’s choice of images showed just how much he is enjoying his time in Nottingham.
Despite playing nearly 20 times for his parent club, Aston Villa, in 2024, Moreno included six pictures of himself playing for Forest with the statement in his New Year’s Eve post.
Even though it might just be a coincidence, Moreno’s post makes it obvious that he is content at the City Ground. Although it is still unclear if Evangelos Marinakis will approve a permanent contract for Moreno in the summer, the Forest owner’s recent remarks regarding transfers suggest that a deal is extremely likely.
Moreno could make sense given Evangelos Marinakis’ comments
Marinakis is prioritising the Forest dressing room atmosphere when considering any incoming in the January transfer window, which makes a permanent move for Moreno logical given how well he has settled into the Forest squad.
Forest were linked with Pervis Estupinan as a potential option at left-back, but that deal would be much more expensive than a deal for Moreno.
Additionally, a substitute for Moreno would probably anticipate starting at left-back instead of the highly productive Williams, so Moreno’s transfer is both economical and squad-friendly. Signing Moreno on a permanent basis may be ideal if Marinakis wants to put the City Ground’s dressing room ambiance first.
