Celtic Exit Looms for Luis Palma

Following Stephen Welsh’s loan move to KV Mechelen, Celtic could see another departure this January. Reports from Spain suggest that winger Luis Palma is close to sealing a loan move to La Liga side Rayo Vallecano. The deal reportedly includes an option to buy for £2 million at the end of the season.

Palma, who has struggled for game time under Brendan Rodgers, has made just 10 appearances for Celtic this season, mostly from the bench.

Rangers Linked with Sasa Zdjelar

Rangers are reportedly interested in Serbian defender Sasa Zdjelar from CSKA Moscow. The 29-year-old centre-back is said to be available for transfer and is also attracting interest from clubs in Germany.

With Rangers grappling with a defensive injury crisis—Leon Balogun, James Tavernier, John Souttar, and Dujon Sterling all sidelined—Zdjelar could provide much-needed reinforcements for Philippe Clement’s side.

Lewis Miller Nears New Hibs Deal

Hibernian are reportedly close to securing a contract extension for defender Lewis Miller. The Australian international, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, has become a key player under interim head coach David Gray.

Miller’s versatility as a right-back or centre-half and his regular inclusion in the Socceroos squad make him a valuable asset for the Easter Road side.

Aberdeen’s Kristers Tobers Cleared for Debut

Aberdeen’s new signing, Latvian midfielder Kristers Tobers, has received his work permit and is set to debut against Hearts on Sunday. The Dons announced:

“Ready for the weekend. We can confirm that Kristers Tobers has received his work permit and will be available for selection this Sunday.”

Kilmarnock Shift Focus in Transfer Market

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes has admitted that injuries to strikers Kyle Vassell and Innes Cameron have reshaped the club’s January transfer priorities. While initially focused on defensive reinforcements, McInnes now sees attacking signings as a pressing need.

Vassell and Cameron are expected to be sidelined for two months, prompting Killie to rethink their strategy.

St Johnstone’s Recruitment Woes

Struggling at the bottom of the Premiership, St Johnstone’s recruitment efforts have hit a stumbling block. Manager Simo Valakari revealed that the club’s precarious position—eight points adrift and without a win since early December—has deterred some potential signings.

“You need to be a tough guy to play in this position,” said Valakari, acknowledging the challenges of attracting players willing to join a club in a relegation battle.

Despite the difficulties, the Saints remain hopeful of making additions to improve their fortunes.
