Report: Nottingham Forest set for another announcement after Murillo deal as breakthrough is made
Nottingham Forest set to make Chris Wood announcement
It’s been a long time coming but it looks like the talisman is here to stay. According to The Athletic, Wood – the scorer of 14 goals so far this season – has reached a breakthrough with Forest over a new two-year contract.
Wood moved to Forest for £15 million in January 2023. The fan base first reacted negatively to the decision, believing he was past his prime and questioning what he would truly contribute to the Forest squad.
However, he’s outperformed expectations at the City Ground. In the end, Wood has shown everyone who dared to doubt him wrong, as he is currently the team’s all-time leading goalscorer in the Premier League.
Wood is expected to sign a two-year contract with the team; an announcement will be made shortly. Although the MLS and Saudi Arabia have expressed interest in Wood, it now appears that he will stay at the top level for another two years.
