Callum Hudson-Odoi injury update provided as Nottingham Forest prepare for Bournemouth clash
Before their travel to Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest will make a last-minute decision about winger Callum Hudson-Odoi’s health.
Toward the end of the first half of last Sunday’s 3-2 triumph over Southampton, the 24-year-old was substituted out. Jota Silva replaced him a few minutes after he scored his third goal of the season to give his club a 2-0 lead.
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo will assess Hudson-Odoi before his team head south for Saturday’s clash (3pm kick-off). It is a game the Reds go into looking to make it 10 games unbeaten in all competitions.
“He felt his groin very tight. He was in a lot of pain,” Nuno said of Hudson-Odoi.
“He has been out for a couple of days. We have to assess and see whether he is available or not.”
Forest won all three points at the City Ground last time out, overcoming a comeback from the Saints. They are just six points behind leaders Liverpool and tied for second place with Arsenal in third place. Nuno, however, has cautioned that they will have fierce competition from the seventh-place Cherries, who are also vying for European football.
“It is going to be very tough. They are a very good team. We have faced them before many times and they are always very difficult,” Nuno said.
“They have good players and are very intense. We expect a strong start, so we have to be ready for that.
“We are happy with the performance of the players. They are committed, they are working very hard and they are competing very well. The challenge ahead of us is to sustain these levels of performance.
