Liam Delap Responds to Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal Transfer Links
Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap has addressed recent speculation linking him with high-profile moves to Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal, insisting that his focus remains firmly on helping his current club avoid relegation.

The 22-year-old has been a standout performer for Ipswich this season, netting nine goals in 23 Premier League appearances. His consistent displays have reportedly attracted the attention of some of England’s biggest clubs.
Delap, the son of former Stoke City and Republic of Ireland midfielder Rory Delap, began his professional career with Manchester City, debuting in 2020. After four years at City, he made the switch to Ipswich in a £20 million deal, where he has since become an integral part of the team’s attack.
Both Manchester United and Chelsea have been closely monitoring his development this season, while Arsenal has also been tipped as a potential destination for the young striker. However, Delap has made it clear that the transfer rumors aren’t affecting his mindset.
Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Delap said:
“It’s engrained in us as footballers. It’s so important, especially for me, to focus on where I’m at now.
“I’m so happy here, I’m enjoying it so much here. I just look forward to playing football. I take every game as it comes and focus on the next.”

The Ipswich striker admitted that he deliberately avoids paying attention to the speculation surrounding his future, choosing instead to stay grounded and committed to the club’s immediate objectives.
“It is something that I try and stay away from,” Delap continued. “People around me have told me to stay away from it. It’s something that I’m very good at—focusing on what I want to do. That’s playing football here.
“I’m really enjoying my time here and I enjoy playing every week. That’s the most important thing.”
Ipswich currently finds itself in a challenging battle to retain its Premier League status, and Delap emphasized the importance of staying focused despite external distractions.
“We know, as players and people, that there is noise. If we have a bad game and people are slating us for not performing or getting the right results, we stay focused on ourselves and what we have to achieve.”
Delap’s composed response will likely be well-received by Ipswich fans, who are counting on his goals to help steer the club to safety. However, with three of the Premier League’s biggest clubs reportedly interested in his services, speculation surrounding his future is unlikely to die down anytime soon.
