Reading Implements Ticket Restrictions Ahead of Birmingham City Clash
Reading has introduced ticket restrictions to prevent Birmingham City fans from entering the home sections of the Select Car Leasing Stadium ahead of their League One meeting this Saturday.

The Royals host Blues in the reverse fixture of the season opener, which ended in a 1-1 draw after Alfie May’s late penalty salvaged a point for Birmingham.
With the visitors now sitting nine points clear at the top of the table, Birmingham fans have secured their full allocation of nearly 3,000 tickets. However, Reading is preparing for the possibility of additional traveling supporters attempting to access home areas of the ground.
To address this, the club has implemented a ticket sales criterion designed to prioritize safety and maintain order on matchday.

“Royals fans will only be able to purchase tickets if their Royals Account has a previous purchase history with either 25+ Loyalty Points or a Legacy Status,” Reading stated. “The move is designed to prevent the possibility of visiting fans purchasing tickets in the home sections and in turn ensure the safety of supporters, and will remain in place on matchday.”
The game comes as Birmingham continues a remarkable run of form. The Blues have only lost twice in the league this season, both defeats coming away from home. However, they are currently enjoying a 15-match unbeaten streak stretching back to their surprise defeat to Shrewsbury Town in November.
Birmingham remains unbeaten at St Andrew’s, with eight home games still to play, and will aim to extend their dominance at the top of the table with a positive result at Reading this weekend.
