“A huge boost,” says Carlton Palmer of Jack Clark’s future at Sunderland.

Carlton Palmer has spoken out about Jack Clarke’s decision to stay at Sunderland this month.

Sunderland will be boosted, according to EFL pundit Carlton Palmer, by the news that Jack Clarke will not leave the club for a Premier League relegation battle.

Sheffield United are interested in Clarke, according to journalist Michael Graham, but the Black Cats are not under any pressure to sell him this month, and he is unlikely to be swayed by a relegation battle.

Sunderland have been looking to sign Clarke to a new contract since the summer, after turning down offers from Premier League clubs such as Burnley.

However, the club and player have reportedly been unable to agree on new terms, and the Black Cats are now said to have informed the 23-year-old that they will not be increasing their offer.
Sunderland’s retention of Clarke, according to Carlton Palmer, is a “great boost” for the club.
Palmer has expressed his thoughts on how much this news will delight Sunderland, with their star man set to stay at least until the end of the season.

“Sunderland have received a great boost that Jack Clarke, the in-form, much sought after player, is being coveted by the likes of Sheffield United and Burnley but is unwilling to join a Premier League team in relegation battle,” he told FLW.

“Clarke has twelve goals and two assists in the Championship so far this season.” Sunderland, who are in the play-offs, are hoping to improve on last season’s results, and unless they receive a ridiculous offer for Jack, he will stay put.

“Reports from Sunderland suggest that not even £20 million will get him out of the club at this point.” There is no problem as long as Jack is happy.”
Sunderland’s season could be saved thanks to the Clarke news.

This will undoubtedly be fantastic news for both the club and the fans.
Clarke has been a key player for Sunderland so far this season. He is the club’s top scorer in the Championship so far this season, with 12 goals, eight more than any other Black Cats player.

He has stepped into the shoes of last season’s loanee Amad Diallo, who scored 14 goals in the Championship and finished the season as Sunderland’s top scorer in the second tier.

Clarke was the Black Cats’ more well-rounded creative player last season, scoring nine goals, three fewer than he has so far this season. Along with that, he had 12 assists last season, compared to just two so far this season.

The Englishman’s 12 goals this season have tied him for third place in the Championship, propelling Sunderland into a play-off position.
Clarke’s goals are so important and difficult to replace that his departure could have put Sunderland in jeopardy.

As Palmer stated, the Black Cats will want to go one better than their previous play-off semi-final defeat and go all the way to secure promotion back to the Premier League after a seven-year absence.

Michael Beale, who replaced Tony Mowbray after just over a year in charge at the Stadium of Light, has won two of his first four games in charge.

There is no doubt that Beale will be overjoyed to learn that he will have Clarke at his disposal for the remainder of the season as he attempts to fulfil the fans’ wish for a return to the top flight.
