A Puzzling Moment for Adam Idah During Norwich Friendly
Adam Idah was included in the starting lineup for Norwich City’s preseason game against Club Brugge. While Idah gets game time with Norwich, a possible contract with Celtic appears further off than one may believe.
The Irish striker, who is still on Celtic’s radar, was oddly taken off the pitch after just 33 minutes of play—a very short time for a preseason friendly.
Idah has been closely watched by Celtic supporters, particularly since the team’s £4.5 million bid for him was turned down by Norwich. Though no new bids have been made, the Hoops are still interested in the young forward.
Jacob Thorup, the new manager of Norwich City, appears committed to giving Idah a thorough preseason evaluation. But we were taken aback by the early substitution made during the friendly match against Club Brugge. As is common, they made the majority of their other substitutons around the hour mark.
To further add to the oddity of the situation, Norwich’s official social media channel stated that the choice to sub Idah off at 33 minutes was prearranged.

Idah had a great success during his season-long loan at Celtic. Regretfully, the Scottish champions are still unable to agree on a deal that would make him a Glasgow regular.
This week, Celtic started their preseason training in the United States, and Kyogo is currently the only recognised senior striker on the team.
While the negotiations are still in progress, we wonder if Idah will continue to be on the periphery with few minutes. We’ll be monitoring his usage over the course of the upcoming week.
