Alistair Johnston’s Brilliant Sunday Evening Post After His Celtic Goal
Celtic defender Alistair Johnston turned to social media with a bit of comedy following his unexpected equaliser in the 2-1 comeback win against Ross County. After the ball bounced off him and into the net for Celtic’s opening goal, the Canadian international laughed at himself, admitting it wasn’t exactly a lesson in finishing.
Johnston made light of the well-known scene in which Chubs (the late Carl Weathers) is shown teaching Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) how to play golf by quoting the remark, “It’s all in the hips.” The self-deprecating post shows Johnston is fully aware that serendipity played a bigger part than any sophisticated touch.
The match also saw a dramatic winner from Nicholas Kuhn to make it seven wins out of seven for Celtic in the league. Next up is Aberdeen who are on the same points as Celtic after an incredible start to the season.
