Even though Daniel Gafford has only played in 13 games with the Dallas Mavericks, he has already made an impression with some amazing performances.

Frank Isola noted on SiriusXM NBA Radio that in his last four games, Gafford has shot 28 of 28. He was 7-of-7 on March 5, 5-of-5 on March 7, and 7-of-7 once more on March 9. Then on Monday night, he finished 9-of-9. Gafford’s achievement of not missing a shot since March 3 is absolutely amazing and almost unprecedented. Gafford’s average since joining the Mavericks in February is 10.7 points and 7.1 rebounds.

Not surprisingly, he has a phenomenal field goal percentage of 76.6% from the field. For the majority of his brief tenure with the Mavericks, Gafford has not been a starter, but over the last three games, he has been a member of the starting five. And following these final four games, he might continue to start for some time. The Mavericks recently defeated the Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons, and Chicago Bulls to start a three-game winning streak.

Even though that is impressive and promising, they still have the eighth seed in the Western Conference and want to move up before the postseason begins in a few weeks. The Mavericks’ supporters begged the front office to give the frontcourt more strength for the majority of the season. The goal of acquiring Gafford was to increase the team’s strength in the paint and in the low post. He has had a terrific start to his career in Dallas thus far, and many believe he has room to grow.
