EXCLUSIVE! The Lausanne-Sport midfielder has been on the Hoops’ radar for months and now could make the move

Alvyn Sanches is back on Celtic’s transfer wishlist after they scrapped plans to move for Mateusz Bogusz.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been under the club’s radar for a number of months, and they were rumoured to be nearing a move for him in January, but that plan was derailed. Football Scotland, however, is aware that the Hoops are looking to spend the money they received from the sale of Matt O’Riley, so that deal is back on the table.

Arne Engels is reportedly the player they view as the ideal substitute for the new Brighton midfielder, who is ready to go right into the starting lineup.

Sanches, who is valued at £4 million, is also regarded as a player for the future who might challenge Paulo Bernardo and other players for playing time in the upcoming months.

Like the Celtic scouting team, who were putting a lot of pressure on the player to approach the manager earlier this summer, Brendan Rodgers is a huge fan of the Swiss and thinks he can succeed.

In the end, the team decided to go forward and sign Bernardo, but Rodgers has since stated that he wanted two midfielders to replace O’Riley when he leaves, and they are no longer interested in signing LAFC’s Bogusz.
