Attempt made to hijack Nottingham Forest’s signing – Competitor currently ‘ahead’ of Reds

About the last 48 hours, Nottingham Forest has taken significant steps towards signing Edoardo Bove of AS Roma. The Serie A team is eager to get rid of the midfield player before the transfer window closes on Friday because Daniele De Rossi does not have him in his plans.

Corriere dello Sport said earlier today that the 22-year-old is just a step away from signing with the Reds.

It was also reported that he accepted Nottingham Forest’s €10 million offer for Roma. Before a new development in this case surfaced, the Italian appeared to be headed to the Premier League team.

Edoardo Bove

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports Eintracht Frankfurt have stepped in to snatch Bove from Nottingham Forest’s clutches. He continues, saying that while the German team is currently “ahead” of Nuno Espírito Santo’s team in the transfer race, Forest is still very much in the running.

Di Marzio claims that Roma has been contacted by the Bundesliga team to sign Bove to a loan agreement with a buyout option.

Nottingham Forest has made an offer to purchase the player, if the earlier report from Corriere is to be believed.

For Forest, nothing is ever simple.
