Awoniyi predicts Forest’s chances for EPL survival, sparks wild reactions concerning his future at the club

Taiwo Awoniyi has not been at his best for Nottingham Forest so far this season, picking up reoccurring injuries.

Taiwo Michael Awoniyi, a striker for the Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest, has made predictions about his team’s future during their struggle to stay in the English Premier League, according to Soccernet.ng.

The 26-year-old forward missed Nigeria’s AFCON 2023 campaign in Ivory Coast because of a recurring groyne issue, which has limited him to just twelve starts in a Forest shirt this season.

The Super Eagles striker helped Nottingham Forest win the Premier League last season with six goals in their final four league games. This season, he returned from injury just in time to help the team defeat Sheffield United 3-1.

Awoniyi entered the game in the 87th minute yesterday, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s team lost 3-2 and he was unable to help Nottingham secure a point against Chelsea.

However, the former Union Berlin striker feels that West Ham’s victory over Luton Town gave Forest supporters hope that they will still be playing in the English top division the following season.

“I believe that we will be present. After the Chelsea match, the former Liverpool striker remarked just outside the City Ground, “We’ll be in the Premier League next season, but the most important thing is to win the next game.”

With a shy smile on his face, Awoniyi discussed his future with the team and seemed uncertain about playing for Nottingham Forest the following season.

That’s a difficult one, but I’m here and I still have a contract with Nottingham Forest. I’m a Nottingham Forest player for the time being,” the former Mainz 05 forward continued.
If Luton Town wants to play in the English Premier League next season, they will need to win their final league game against Fulham by a score of twelve goals and hope that Forest loses to Burnley.
