‘Best guy in football’: Morgan Gibbs-White lauds Nottingham Forest star rarely seen this season
Morgan Gibbs-White wowed by Nottingham Forest star
Lots of players were worthy of praise yesterday with Gibbs-White himself among the top performers from a Forest perspective.
In the absence of Ryan Yates, Gibbs-White performed like a true captain and was in excellent form the entire time.
However, as football is now a team sport, Gibbs-White decided to highlight a player who isn’t often noticed for his performance.
It was wonderful to see the left-back return to the field, and Harry Toffolo made a rare appearance at the end of the match.
The defender is clearly a good character behind the scenes and Gibbs-White posted on Instagram: “Best guy in football.”
Morgan Gibbs-White stats vs Brentford
Gibbs-White was deployed as a central midfielder against Brentford and it was a position that he thrived in throughout the contest.
Morgan Gibbs-White stats vs Brentford | Total |
Pass accuracy | 88.9% |
Tackles | 8 |
Clearances | 2 |
Touches | 63 |
The 24-year-old was posing a serious threat to Brentford’s midfield and was making it hard for the Bees to close the distance.
These kinds of performances will be crucial if Gibbs-White is to make an impression on Thomas Tuchel, the next England manager, in the new year.
Although Gibbs-White will want to increase his goals and assists this season, it’s safe to say that he’s currently playing in absolutely fantastic form.
